You Are A Spiritual Being

The secret to living a fulfilled life without fear of dying is to realize we are spiritual beings seeking a physical experience, rather than physical beings seeking a spiritual experience. (Author: Unknown to me)

We let other people's opinions of us shape us, especially the negative opinions. If someone tells a person that they are useless, that they can't do anything right, that they are ugly, any number of negative comments, those comments are taken to heart. We see this with verbal abuse. If the abusee is a child they grow up feeling worthless. If the abusee is an adult they lose their self esteem and feel they can't make it on their own. They don't leave because they believe the abuser, they believe that they are worthless. Other people can tell you that you can do it, you can break free. That really doesn't help, you have to believe in yourself.

Of course verbal abuse is the extreme, nearly everyone has had someone say somethingnegative about themselves and it sticks in your head, and it comes to the forefront when a similar situation arises.

The exercise this week is to build self-esteem and rid ourselves of the negative seeds that have been planted.

Start a list of your good qualities. Start with I am wonderful. I am a beautiful person. Now add your other good qualities. Read this list every day and as you think of more add them, take this list to heart, replace those negative opinions with it. When someone says anything negative to you (about you), remember your list, think about your good qualities not what they are saying. Push those negative opinions right out of your mind. Yes, it will take some time to rid yourself of them all, but you can do it.

The Divine loves you for who you are, love yourself.

You are spiritual being and you deserve love, love yourself and you send forth energy that will attract love to you.

You are a spiritual being and you are perfect the way you are. After all, you are a reflection of the Divine.

Until next week,
Rev. Tammy

Look On the Bright Side

You seem to be stuck in a rut. Everything is going wrong for you and you can't seem to turn it around. You may get a glimpse that things are going to get better, then you get slapped back down. You don't understand why these things keep happening to you. You are a good person, shouldn't Karma be bringing you good things?

Here's the problem, when your life is in the dumps that's what you tend to focus on. You focus on the negatives. You give voice to those negatives by venting about them, you give thought to those negatives. I've been there.

I want you to know, there is a solution. A very simple solution, but it will take some work and practice on your part.

Stop thinking about the negatives in your life. Stop venting about them. Stop giving them life. Look around you, do you have a home, a job, food, friends, family? These are good things in your life. It may not be the home you want, or the job you want, but you have them, be thankful for them. Acknowledge and give thanks for the good things in your life. If you find negative thoughts forming push them away and fill that space with thoughts of something that makes you happy. Don't vent about the negatives that are happening to you, that gives them thought. Like attracts like, and thoughts are energy.

Before you go to sleep at night, make up your mind that tomorrow is going to be a good day. Make up your mind that nothing will bother you, that all good will come your way. Reaffirm it in the morning when you wake up.

I have been doing this for 3 weeks now. Every day it gets easier to do and I am beginning to see a difference in my life. Especially where my job is concerned. This is the most stressful time of year at my job and I can honestly say that these last few weeks at work have been good. I have refused to let the stress get to me. I have noticed that people that I am dealing with are happier. Because I am happier I am sending out positive energy.

Push the negatives aside, ask the Divine for a good day and trust that you will get it. If you have a set back, push it out of your mind. Trust that each day will get better. As you change your way of thinking and acknowledging things, each day will get better. Don't let doubt that you will have a good day and that things will get better rear it's ugly head.

Look on the bright side!

Until next week,

Welcome!

Those of you that have known me for sometime will know that I am an ordained minister. Those of you that know me or read my other blog will know that I am also pagan.

Pagans don't go to a pagan church, at least none that I have heard of. I have been around enough pagans both in real life and online to know that there are many different beliefs.

I am not here to preach to you, or to force my belief down your throat. I am here as a spiritual adviser. In these days and time when so many people are down because of the economy and so many people are worried about their jobs, we can all use a little spiritual lifting.

I am planning to write one sermon here each week. The day will vary because I my days off work vary. You don't have to be pagan to read, enjoy, or learn something from these sermons and I will do my best to refer to Deity as Deity or Great Divine. Occasionally I may even quote from the bible, because even though I am pagan, I also believe that one should take good advice where ever they find it.

Until next week and my first sermon,
Reverend Tammy Lind
